Can i connect my xbox 360 to the my router using an ethernet cable?

After I have done this, do I go to media centre and tick share my media to. Is there any procedures in between becasue if I do this xbox 360 does not appear when i click share my media to.

I have wireless internet in my computer and vista.

yes. you need to pay a small fee to Microsoft for using the Xbox network to play games though!

Hey

I was getting an extension onto my house and we had to move the xbox from downstairs up to our loft witch is now our games room for our consols while the Extension was going on i took the xbox 360 and moved it into my room but the router was down the stair in the living room so what i done was got my laptop connected it wirelessly got an ethernet cable plugged it into laptop and then plugged they other end into my xbox and it connected their is far less hassle with doing this and it works just like you plugged it into you router

Hello,

I used to use a wired router but using the same procedure i helped my friend connect his to media centre using the same steps.

1. Make sure your connection is Xbox – Router using one of the spare Ethernet points on the back.

2. Make sure you Xbox and your computer is switched on at the same time during the process.

3. On your xbox click on the media center and follow the steps to set up

3. Your computer may come up with a Media Extender, allow that to gain access.

4. On your Xbox try to connect to the media centre and everything should work.
