How To Fix A Xbox 360 E74 And RROD

This will show you how to fix the RROD/3 red lights and most E74 errors. For a similar text tutorial look at www.llamma.com Parts I Used: 8 count of M5 nylon and steel washers 1mm thick. 4 count M5 10mm bolts. I got them from www.mcmaster.com and the part numbers are 91460A224 – Bolts 95610A160 – Nylon Washers 95610A160 – Steel Washers

    Did this last night. When I booted it up the first time I still got the E74. I did the “control baking” for about 5 minutes and let it set to cool down 15-20 minutes. I then booted it up and got to the dashboard. Thanks for the nice video walkthrough!

    Hopefully someone can help me out. In his description he has Nylon Washers and Steel Washers listed as the same part ID…is that a mistake? If so, what is the correct part ID for the Steel Washers? I need to do this to fix my 360

    They way you set your washers didnt work for me. I had to put one of each on both sides of the board to get it to work. Your washer method gave me rrod.

    I did this a week ago…E74 error…right now im baking it, i had done the trick and i had a 115volt and a 15 volt fan on the xbox and it no has the E74

    now i did everything he said and i got the e74 error again after about 5or 7 hours later. ive tried to fix it again but now i got the over heating error…. anyone want to help me out?

    when you are putting in the screws and half to balance it just get some tape on the underside of the board on the screws.

    yo is there any different if i raplaced both of the xclamp or you are only ment to take out 1 x-clamp??pls because it ook out bouth of the xclamps and replace it with that and it still did not work

    I had 3 rrod….did towel trick.. and it worked for about 4 months, then got E 74 a few days ago did towel trick again and worked for about 5 hours till E74 came back. Replaced gpu xclamp with screws and let gpu bake as shown in this tutorial and my 360 is up and running again!

    If you have choppy looking graphics and weird looking colors right before you get rrod. Do this step by step exactly and it should work just fine.

    yes i said pennies. you can fix your red rings and e74 with 8 cents. copper is a very good heat conductor and does a better job than those stickers at controlling the heat in the back of the xbox 360. so microsoft could solve this problem by spending 8 cents on every xbox instead of having millions of xboxs shipped back them them every year

    at round 18-21 minutes through the video he is showing the x clamps. right next to the one he is taking out are 4 red sicker things (i forget what they are called.) take them off. take two pennies and wrap electical tape around them one way. and then the other way to make them look like a square. then take themal paste and replace those stickers with the pennies wraped in electical tape. do this for all four

    same with my xbox see what error you have by clicking the dick try button and the find button u use for wireless controllers at the same time 4 times 4rings=0 3=3 2=2 1-1 my error was 0122 that means that your ana card(vidio scaler) has lost conection with the motherboard(soldering broken) and you need 2 resolder it back on some how

    Pathetic is right. I just got my 360 back less than a week ago, and it’s already broken again for the same problem. There really is no excuse for this type of crap. Microsoft shouldn’t send their crap out to the public until it functions (has anyone told them that yet? Because most people would have caught on by now).
