Graphically amazing game made by Ubisoft.
Avatar tries to be a lot of things, it’s detailed and you build your experience as you go along using the scanner (R2) and an XP system. However, the use of L2 as a modifier for the right hand buttons becomes complicated in the heat of battle. After a while of playing this I wished for a first person mode, the character looked jerky and looking around became a chore. After three of four hours of playing I was fed up with walking down paths and being attacked by viper dogs Na,vi and large sunflowers. After a little longer I noticed that there was no zoom on the weapons but clearly some had telescopic sights
It could have been a great game but something is missing. Certainly first person mode. An easier way to change weapons would be nice. Maybe, it just that it leads you everywhere and there is little chance to head out on your own and explore, for example I discovered where the large powered battle suits were but couldn’t use them, boring!. For me it feels rushed. Perhaps it plays better on PC? Certainly my copy is going for trade in. Offers?

i bought this after watching the movie, the graphics are spectacular but unlike Oblivion you cannot just wander around and take in the scenery and interact with people, you are constantly being hunted, the whole game evolves around shooting and killing which spoils it really. it has potential for so much more, riding the cars and banshees are great but very limited and short lived. the story line is basically ‘kill the humans’

A good game, the graphics are very good when playing the game take time to survey your surroundings as a lot of work has been put in to the graphics. There are a couple of small points wrong with the game but dont let it spoil our enjoyment.

Avatar for the PS3 is a really good game if you enjoyed the movie. The only problem that annoyed me at first was the camera angle, but i quickly got used to it. I would recommend it.
