Classic Game Room HD – BLASTER MASTER for NES review

Posted by admin On April - 2 - 2010

Classic Game Room was the FIRST classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999. Returning in 2008 with new episodes, Classic Game Room breaks out a review of BLASTER MASTER for the Nintendo Entertainment System from the late 1980’s! Developed by Sunsoft this side scrolling/top scrolling adventure science fiction game was years ahead of its time. CGRHD believes it to be one of the best, if not the best game on the 8-bit NES. Flght your way through several levels filled with mutants and monsters in your Sophia tank/truck thing that flies, swims and does all kinds of neat things. Will they ever remake this game for the PS3 or Xbox 360 or Wii? It’s amazing!! Be sure to watch the original Classic Game Room episodes. Classic Game Room was the original classic video game review show on the Internet in 1999-2000, now on DVD. Wii, PS3, Xbox 360.

I have a question, what is the name a game with a woman that is part human and part spaceship. This game was on the NES.

I got all the way up to the ice level back in the early 90’s. Then I realized I had been playing for 8 hours and that this game really needs a save system. Never made it to the end of the game :(

See, the problem with your argument is… I dunno about Guevara, but I know the other 3 games are shoot em ups… Blaster Master is not. They’re entirely different styles of games and gameplay. Blaster Master is more of an exploration game than an action game. It fucking rules, I think.

Loving those last comments you made on the review. LOL. Well, since the boss glitch covers 2, 4, 6, and 7, I can easily say 5 was the hardest boss in the game, since 1, 3, and the final bosses in 8 weren’t too difficult especially with full gun or turbo grenade. I found kicking that crab’ butt was easiest with full gun. Saved on evasive maneuvering in that fight too.

I was never a big fan of this game, growing up or now. The level design was cool and the boss music is fun to listen to, but overall I thought it was pretty average. The graphics aren’t that good and the weapon upgrades are pretty minimal. I prefer Gun Nac/Gun Smoke/Guevara/Gradius II to this game.

I’m thinking of downloading this or Blaster Master Overdrive on the wii. So far, I’m leaning toward the NES original.
