Can a wii connect to a friend’s xbox for wifi battle if they have the same game?

Like say two friends have Call of Duty: World at War, but one has it for Wii and another has it for Xbox. Would they be able to connect to play each other, or does Wii wifi connect with other Wiis only and the same with Xbox?

You both need the same format. Wii’s play with Wii’s, 360’s with other 360’s. PS3’s with other PS3’s.
PC’s with other PC’s

While A little cross-format action would be nice, none of the major companies are going to try and make that happen.

nope…u cant connect them first of all
second of all, you cant play other consoles with the wii (im not sure about xbox)

Since the two consoles are made by different developers (Microsoft and Nintendo) and they use different servers, no. You have to be using the same console to connect online.
