Gears of War 3 "Won’t Be Easier," Says Cliff Bleszinski

Gears creator Cliff Bleszinski has entered rumor control mode, stepping out to deny recent word that Gears of War 3 will be easier than the other two titles. “[The] game won’t be easier, Hardcore and Insane will certainly live up to their names,” he said to CVG. “It’s just that Casual will be even easier.” So one difficulty level, will be tweaked and made easier, but the other two will stay just as punishing.

The rumors of lighter difficulty started this week with a set of Russian magazine scans. Bleszinski quickly stepped in to call the translated scans “false info,” which effectively debunked most of the rumors. The one that has persistently stuck was that the game would be made significantly easier to accommodate the 60% who didn’t finish the second game’s campaign. Now that Bleszinski has stepped in to clarify that as well, the book should be closed on the Gears 3 rumors.
