I’ll keep this short. The control, whether it be with the wheel or control is generally unreactive and sluggish. The graphics are lack luster and the colour is subdued in shade, pastel like. The sound is e.q’d to oblivion and sounds messy. The music sounds more like generic stock music that could be used for any game. Characters are unresponsive and weapon firing is more down to chance than skill. Levels feel cheap. As a player you feel completely detached. On Mario Kart Double Dash for the Gamecube it is a lot more down to skill were with this game it feels as if you aren’t in FULL control of the kart. If you are hit by a weapon it goes through the motions and you have to wait until you regain control to begin driving again.
This is a step backwards and feels very similar to Mario Kart for the n64. So if you liked that then you’ll probably like this. But I would recommend you go back and play the n64 version BEFORE buying this. Because I played it a couple of weeks back and was utterly shocked at how weak it is as a game. In fact as far as overall game play standards go Mario Kart Wii is VERY similar to Mario Kart 64 only with better graphics.
If your favourite MK game is Double Dash DON’T get this.
Edit: I should point out that I don’t like the Mario Kart games. I only like Double Dash because it’s unlike the other versions. This may help in understanding where I’m coming from with my review.

This game is terrible
If you enjoyed Mario Kart on any other format DS/GC/GB/N64 etc then you will NOT repeat NOT enjoy this.
The stupid wheel is rubbish for controling the Kart, the stats are badly chosen so all the karts handle poorly and the addition of motor bikes makes no sense.
The online is the only redeeming quality but even that is poor. the lobbying feels like it was done in MS excel and there is hardly any interaction with the opponants like in Live.
AT a best this game is a rent only title.
AND I A NINTENDO FAN BOY BTW AND I HATED THIS GAME WHICH SHOWS HOW BAD IT IS

I was surprised to be asked to review this product as it never turned up . The market place seller turned out to be bad one and it took weeks of him failing to deliver to the sellers before Amazon realised he was ripping us off. Anyway even more weeks later after a claim I got my money back but no game which I bought almost as cheap at The Hut.

on second thought you could be playing a french one without the freeloader.
