Rockstar Reveals Red Dead Redemption Social Club Features

Rockstar is gearing up for next week’s launch of Red Dead Redemption, and has launched details of how the game will work with the Rockstar Social Club. Joystiq reports that the service will offer some bonus challenges with in-game rewards. As an example, one mission early in the game sees your cowboy dragging a man by horse. If the player beats a target time, they’ll get access to a cheat called “Guns Blazing,” which gives bullets a chance to set enemies on fire. Another example cited is that players will be rewarded with XboxLive or PS Home avatar shirts as a prize for hitting a certain dollar amount in the game.

Community news, multi-player events, leaderboards, and stats will also be tracked by the Social Club site. The report even claims that 100% completion is exclusive to Social Club users. Seeing as one achievement relies on 100% completion, anyone who wants the full score will have to register with the site.
