How can I connect my wii console to my HDTV via HD cable?

For starters, I can’t find a HD slot in my wii, and also I have my ps3 taking up the only HD slot on the tv. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!

That’s because a Wii doesn’t have a “HD” slot (I think you mean a HDMI socket).

You need to connect your Wii with the cable that came with the system, that has three composite leads (left audio, right audio, video) and on the other end the Wii’s own plug that plugs into the wii itself.

There will be sockets either on the side or the back of your TV that are coloured red, white and yellow. Plug the leads in and then select the av channel on the TV according to where you have plugged the leads in.

If you dont have the lead then they are cheap to buy on ebay.

The only HD output that the Wii has is component, which are the green, blue, and red cables. You’ll have to use the composite cables (red, white) for audio as well, as all 3 component cables are for video.

If your TV doesn’t have anymore slots you could buy a cheap splitter to increase the component inputs. Or a more expensive component to HDMI converter.
