Hi,

I am trying to use my xbox 360 abroad on live in Austria. The xbox is registered in the uk and everything but I dont see why that can be a problem.

The xbox connects to live and I can even download videos and see my friends online but when trying to play codmw2 on live it says 0 people are online and in the playlist and it just keeps on searching for a ‘good game’. Same problem with halo 3 is just says it cant retrieve multiplayer information (something along those lines). Also I cant chat to friends in a party but I can send a text message. My Nat is open and the internet connection is fast, I downloaded the halo reach trailer in a minute or two.

EA is clearly trying to evoke a certain level of nostalgia in their new NBA Jam reboot to recapture fans of the originals, and what better way to do it than include some classic NBA stars as well? MTV multi-player reports that Earvin “Magic” Johnson and Larry Bird will both appear in the game…and these legendary rivals will be playing on the same team.

And no, this isn’t an April Fools joke (at least we’re pretty sure…). NBA Jam creative director Trey Smith confirms the duo’s appearance himself, explaining that they’ll first appear as the final team you have to beat to win in the “Classic Campaign” mode. “Whoever wins the [2010 NBA] championship, they’ll be the second-to-last team, and then we’ll have a legendary battle,” Smith said. “Right now it’s slated: Magic and Bird. So that should be really cool.”

As for what other secret stars the new NBA Jam may have on its roster, it seems Smith wouldn’t say. Of course, NBA Jam is fondly remembered for completely random special characters like George Clinton and Beastie Boy Adam “MCA” Yauch — but is such a thing even possible in this day and age of high-priced lawyers and frivolous litigation? We’ll just have to wait and see what EA manages to come up with.

A pretty hardcore badge of honour amongst fans of the classic Deus Ex is to finish the game without killing anyone. After all, shooting people dead and moving on is a pretty easy way to get through the game; it’s trickier to use either tranquilizer darts, strong blows to the head, or stun guns instead. It’s also a particular point of pride for project director Warren Spector — having a first-person shooter where the player doesn’t actually have to kill anyone. And that sensibility is intact with the upcoming Deus Ex: Human Revolution — mostly.

In a quick chat with DE: HR art director Jonathan Jacques-Belletete, when asked if one could finish the game without killing anybody (the actual form of the question, for context, was, “does [DE: HR protagonist] Adam Jensen believe in nonlethal takedowns?”), he answered, “Adam doesn’t believe in nonlethal methods if the player doesn’t believe in nonlethal methods. But if the player believes in not killing anybody, then you can finish the game without killing anybody. It’s just like the first one — except that we have the boss fights.”
