Though the console had been test marketed in “select retail outlets” going back to the previous holiday season, May 7 is the day it officially became available nationwide.

On this day in 1995, exactly fifteen years ago, Nintendo launched its official website on the “World Wide Web.”

The original Nintendo.com is more than likely lost forever (the image above come from an Archive.org snapshot from December 22, 1996), but a press release announcing it provides some clues as to its structure.

Today is unofficial Star Wars Day, and if you don’t know why, say the date out loud (May the…yeah). And to commemorate this auspicious day of Star Wars nerdom, LucasArts has revealed on its Facebook page that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 2 will hit retail October 26.

The Force Unleashed 2 was revealed in a teaser video during the Spike TV VGAs last December, but not much more has been revealed about it since then. We do know the main character will once again be Starkiller, Darth Vader’s secret apprentice.

So for now, Star Wars fans, you can re-watch the teaser trailer above, mark your calendar for October 26, and then patiently wait for LucasArts to actually reveal a little more about the game before they release it.
