i got the yellow light of death and i need my ps3 because it has backwards compatibility and i have like 15 ps2 games and no ps2.

tried to play halo reach on my xbox this morning but when i put the disk in it didn’t register, it just said open tray, it didn’t even come up with the message play dvd or anything it just said open tray. my brother and my dad then fiddled around with it. they unplugged it, reconnected it, tried different games etc and it didn’t work. then when they went to turn it on again it and it came up with 3 red lights around the power button. they then turned it off and on again and it loaded up the dashboard fine but it still didn’t read disks. does this count as rrod? if not, what happened?

what can i do?

i don’t want any random fix it yourself kind of things. do i need to send it to microsoft and get it fixed, if so how do i do that and how much will it cost.

if it helps i got the 360 for christmas in 2008 so would have been bought in the autumn of that year.

ok it has one rrod in the bottom right sided quadrant and says i have E 79
when i play without a hdd it works fine and i aint buying another hdd for this piece of sht so should i send it to ms or what? and i aint paying them
