I’ve looked out here and have not found a complete video of how to take the heatsinks off the motherboard in an Xbox 360 so I decided to post one. In this video we’ll be assembling the rest of the 360.

THERE IS DISTURBING TREND on Youtube, it involves SMASHING classic gaming consoles. I am sure many of you have seen or heard about it. I can certainly understand someone who decides to smash or burn their Xbox360 that has RROD’ed for the 11th time, no shortage of those, still not my thing to watch or support such nonsense BUT IT REALLY PISSES me off when I see videos of destruction involving older consoles! I have seen plenty for Atari 2600, N64 even DREAMCASTS or original XBOX. Now, I see some smaller channels do this as they are desperate and will do anything to gain viewers/subscribers but I have also seen channels that have become big doing this, actually promoting the activity etc. Most disturbing was a big channel that posted a video smashing a original Xbox and DREAMCAST, the issue with the Dreamcast is actually very common and easily fixable. If it was beyond his skill or mentality to repair it fine but if that is the case then either the items should be passed on to someone who can repair it at the very least stripped down and sold in parts for other people to use for spare parts. Perhaps donate or sell the items for little more than postage to someone who can make use of and appreciate it. Worst of all the guy that posted that video seems in every other way to be a true collector and gamer, I mean his collection is certainly impressive and blows mine away, then I see him make a video like that? PATHETIC! BOTTOM LINE is there is no valid reason for making videos …

There are a million videos on how to repair the 360 out there on YT and the net and here is one more to add to the pile. In this video the biggest emphasis on how to repair what the title says basically comes down to the TIGHTNESS OF THE SCREWS, many people don’t realize that due to improper tighness on the gpu and cpu heatsink screws can lead to all of the stated above problems. Recommended that you go down to your local hardware store and find some 5×10 fine thread philips screws and some small washers that will fit over the screws, go to your local pc store and pick up some thermal compound and give this a shot. Total cost shouldn’t run you anymore than $15. Once you get everything put back together, listen for the fan speed. If it sounds like it’s racing than you’ve probably got the screws too tight or not tight enough. If you get 2, 3, or 4 rings, once again, re check the tightness of the screws and try again. Finally, if you still don’t have video or the video is good and then goes bad again…..Check The Tighness Of The Screws Hope this helps a little bit.
