I’ve had my Xbox 360 for 5 years and have been able to boast that it still has not RRODed, yet just this morning it has. I have a green light on my power supply so it’s safe to say its buggered.

I’m going to buy an Arcade Xbox 360 to replace simply because it’s cheapest and I can chuck in my harddrive and be all set.

When I put my harddrive into my Arcade Xbox 360 console will I break it? I’m sure the RROD is power supply related but I want to make sure I don’t break my new console too, and also will I notice any difference with my Xbox 360 Arcade as opposed to my pro/premium package I used beforehand.

Also, do Xbox 360 Arcade console bundles come with a HDMI port in the back? Due to my console being the first model release of the Xbox 360 I have no HDMI port which means I cannot utilise my HDTV, so I would want to make sure this time around I pick up one with a HDMI port in the back.

Finally, a bit of a back alley question, but I have a flashed Xbox that is banned on Xbox Live (my friend gave it to me so I could review copied games for a website which never happened, but he allowed me to keep it anyway.) Would it possible for me to put in my original hard-drive into the flashed Xbox and still play games / earn achievments for my Xbox Live GOLD account? I don’t expect to be able to play on Xbox Live, right now all im bothered about is being able to play games on my original account. The reason I ask without trying I am worried my account will get banned if I even put my hard-drive into the flashed xbox.

My friend told me the accounts don’t get banned when playing copied games, but it is infact the Xbox 360 itself.

How much off would they give me off a PS3 if I traded in my Xbox 360 at GAME?

I’ve been panicking for ages about the release of F1 2010, because I had neither a 360 or a PS3. So imagine my joy when, on my 21st birthday, I find I’ve been given an Xbox 360, brand new, never been used before. Now imagine my disappointment, after setting it all up and ready to play, I switch it on and… bam. Immediate RROD. How!?!

Rrod Nuff said. On my non modded xbox 360. Oh well lolol

I’ve had a bit of a poke around online in an attempt to ascertain whether the new “Falcon” 65nm GPUs and CPUs, coupled with the improved fans, actually prevent the newer 360s from overheating. Short of placing one on top of another hot piece of equipment, has anyone heard of them going all RROD yet?

I hope not. I have mine standing on its side to improve cooling (since the bottom gets warmest) though, just to be on the safe side.

I was gone for a week on vacation and when I came back my xbox had 3 red rings..it was working fine before I left. Anyway..when I turn it on it doesn’t come up on the TV or anything that I should go to xbox.com/support, which it did last time I had RROD. It does not start up at all, as soon as I press power, 3 rings..
The power supply light also stays orange when I try to turn it on..microsoft says that it should still go green even when it has 3 red rings.

OK!I was playing halo 3 for a while with my brother and before i know it freezes ok no problem but when i turn it on the screen freezes before the XBOX 360 logo appears and i turn it off and back on and all of a sudden my xbox 360 shows me rrod i keep turning it on and off but still rrod and then i leave it off for like 30 or 20 mins and works like new but the symptom keeps appearing again in a cycle………is it really hardware failure like microsoft and 4myxbox says so or is it really bullcrap and i can fix it myself……….someone please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like i said this is the third time i have had a RROD so i am familiar when the process of phoning x-box to come and fix it (albeit temporaraly).

I phoned up last night and i gave them the usual name, address, product i.d, serial no. and date of manufacture, but the guy started asking me for my tag, i am guessing he means my gamertag but why would they want that?

i know there may be some modded 360’s flying about and when using live most machines are scanned and all mods are banned from live and so microsoft wouldn’t be to happy in fixing these “illegal” machines, but heres my problem is this,

Say a kid has a 360 then he will most certainly will come aross a RROD at least once, right, fair enough. now, said kid must phone x-box to come and get his 360 unit to take it away to narnia (at least i think thats where they take them, it takes so long for them to send it back they may as well ship them to pluto), so the kid give x-box all his details and the kid is asked for his gamertag, again fair enough BUT what if the kid hasn’t got Live? how are x-box to know if this machine has been modded?! now x-box refuse to collect his machine and the kid is left very disappointed!

Its a stupid system and i want to know why the hell x-box thought this would be a good idea!
