I was planning to buy one before the psn went down but the outage has pushed me to the limit.
Now my friend is selling his xbox premium or elite (i don;t know which) for £125 which comes with a wireless adapter (for wifi), black ops, mw2, and 2 controllers
Should I buy his for this good deal (he’s had it for a year or 2) or buy a new slim?
Also are the premium/ elite really bad at getting the RROD? Is it easy to fix or possible to get at all?

I have both consoles. I mostly play my PS3 but I had XBOX Live once but didn’t use it much. Now that the PSN is possibly going to be rebuilt I dont want any occurances like this again. I’m not entirely sure if I want to switch to XBOX. Can anyone give me some real benefits that XBOX has?

The reason I am Asking this Question in the first place is because I have a 360 , but i want something else Because my Bro Always Complains and wants To play. More of my friends Play the 360 i have Xbox live and will get PSN if i get the 360. The another thing is i want to play Non-stop for like 4 hours without anything getting overheated, My xbox does not get over heated. But because of RROD , the hardware Failure. Only about 40 of my Friends i talk to Daily Have PS3
While on xbox my Friends list is full so i have to keep 2 extra Accounts.

bought it as a RRoD xbox off ebay for 20£, thought well as I can not afford one will try and fix one, repaired it successfully and is working perfect, can sign into xbox live (so not banned), play downloaded games, stream media and everything else you can do, except for when I put in a game disc (authentic thanks) says PLAY DVD. press A then just comes up please put this disc into a XBOX 360 lol any ideas??? I have searched google and read about changing the dvd key in the nand but dont really want to do anything illegal, warrenty sticker is obviously gone so what could I do? other than use it as an over the top loud media player? hope someone can help….. oh and it plays dvds and cds perfect just not games

I have an xbox live account on my xbox. Unfortunately whilst playing my xbox got the dreaded RROD, by this time I only had 115G. I got hold of my brothers friends xbox but this one was banned from going online. At the time I didn’t mind because I just wanted an xbox quick. So I put my hard drive on there and all was well. This one also got the RROD so I stopped playing for a good while, at this point I had 5045G. I went onto my boyfriends xbox and signed in with my gamertag recently and I had 115G. I know I only had 115G because that was the last time I was signed into xbox live. So when I got my brothers friends xbox I was getting gamerscore but it wasn’t going through because of the no internet problem, so on my hard drive I have 5045G. My boyfriend was disgusted by my 115G score [who wouldn't be?] and started adding points. The problem is I don’t know how it’s going to work when I get my new xbox, which is soon. Will the points I got whilst online and the ones I got whilst offline merge?
Sorry for the long question but it’s really bugging me.

Cost – 360 is cheaper unless you constantly pay for xbox live in which case it might not even be more expensive.
Online gaming – Microsoft have hit the nail on the head but i heard some people saying PS3 was a bit slow online.
Range of games – Most games are on both consoles but there are definately a lot of games to choose from for 360.
Controllers – No question about it… The 360s controllers fit really well into your hand.
